Situated along the scenic Route 62, between Joubertina and Krakeel River, Grootnek Guest Farm offers a unique experience for honeymooners.

Guests can choose to enjoy their stay in the comfort of one of three quaint, self-catering, fully equipped cottages. These are all nestled amongst the plum orchards of this quiet and peaceful fruit farm. The West Coast Cottage, Karoo Cottage and the Bushveld Cottage each boast their own unique farm Jacuzzi.

Expect comfortable simplicity during your stay as this guest farm offers rustic charm, coupled with the luxury of everyday comfort. Each cottage is equipped with gas appliances, hot running water, lamps and candles to complete the beautifully uncomplicated, farm-life experience.

Whether you enjoy complete relaxation or appreciating nature through outdoor activities, Grootnek Guest Farm offers the ideal opportunity for both. From lounging in the farm Jacuzzi or watching 64 species of indigenous birdlife to horse riding and trail hiking. Guests are invited to take part in a wide variety of activities on offer at the guest farm.

Experience the true sense of ‘getting away from it all’. Let the birds wake you up to breath the fresh country air each morning. Drink fresh spring water at the source and celebrate peace and tranquility of nature undisturbed by the fast-paced city life.

Each of the cottages on Grootnek Guest Farm is designed specially to cater to the guest’s every need. The simplicity of farm life is complimented by the home comforts available in these charming cottages.

The Weskus, Karoo and Bosveld cottages each comprise an ample open plan living space including a dining area and kitchen. Two bedrooms in each provide sleeping space for up to six guests. The bathrooms and kitchens each have hot water from a gas geyser and gas appliances, including a fridge and stove.

Lamps and candles complete the natural ambience of a starlit evening spent on the outside patio and braai area. These overlook the orchards in complete and comfortable privacy from the outside world. Although the cottages provide the same facilities to guests, each is unique in its charm and appeal.

Grootnek Guest Farm has a host of activities to offer guests during their stay. Activities range from blissful relaxation to bushveld adventure. Take in the beautiful surroundings and untainted sunsets or explore the natural mountain fynbos on foot or horseback.

Grootnek Guest Farm lies along the popular R62 which serves as an alternative ‘scenic’ route to the N2 Highway. This links the small farming towns to the bigger centre’s from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. The route is an endless source of wonder with many activities on offer, with breathtaking scenery and rich history.

The Langkloof, or the ‘Fruit Route’, boasts a feast of attractions to the avid traveler. The towns of Joubertina and Krakeel are examples of the historic villages, still largely unaffected by modern day stresses. The people of this area prefer to spend their days honing their craft, from farmers to local artists.

The Langkloof, meaning ‘long ravine’, houses a variety of natural wonders, spectacular scenery and great hospitality. Hiking, horse riding, fishing, caving and exploring will perfectly compliment the simplicity of farm life experienced at Grootnek Guest Farm.

Nature-loving guests can also look forward to visiting the nearby Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area. This world heritage site stretches over 200km and is home to many unspoiled elements of nature. Travelers have the opportunity to participate in many eco-recreational activities within this conservation area while experiencing nature face to face.

You are sure to find your niche at Grootnek Guest Farm.
