The Geometric Wedding

The latest wedding décor trend

If you really want a wedding with a difference, something completely unique, then forget fussy frills and heart shaped table decor and opt for the clean, modern aesthetic of the geometric wedding.

The geometric theme came about as a result of urban, industrial styled wedding, were brides and grooms wanted to avoid the classic sugary pink and white look and rather embrace clean, minimalist lines and colours for their wedding.

However, the geometric look ended up being quite versatile. Not only can it work with any colour scheme, but it can also work with outdoor weddings venues as well as urban venues.

The most important thing to bear in mind with a geometric wedding, or geo wedding is that you have to choose one metallic colour- silver, gold or copper, as it will tie the theme together. Art deco gowns and furnishings also go well with the look.

Here are some wonderful ideas for a geometric styled wedding.

The invitations

Geometric invitations can be very creative. You can either opt for the minimalist invite, with gold and black bold lines or you can have an abundance of colourful shapes that complement each other. Make sure the font is clean and simple.

The Geo centrepiece

An absolute favourite for the centrepiece is the Geometric Terrarium. The terrarium will add a touch of class to the wedding. You can either place succulents inside the terrarium or flowers, either way the look is elegant and charming. For a simpler look place candles in a hexagon shape candle holder.

The Geo cake

You can really have fun with the cake. Complement the modern look of the wedding by incorporating geometric patterns like squares, hexagons, and triangles into your wedding cake design. Copper and gold decorations are especially effective.

The Geo backdrop

Make sure to incorporate the geo pattern in your wedding ceremony backdrop. It can be a subtle backdrop of geometric flower holders or you can go bold with triangular or hexagon shaped props and sculptures.
