Tarah van Wyk is the owner and designer at Magpie Calls. Tarah is a self-confessed magpie.
Her passion for making pretty and shiny things started when she became a Belly Dancer. She had to make her own costumes and accessories and was soon asked to create accessories for her fellow dancers.
Magpie Calls now focuses primarily on bridal and special occasion accessories.
Tarah works with new and old/vintage elements, and collects bits from various sources. Each piece is handcrafted from scratch and she uses a variety of materials. They are one of a kind bespoke pieces that are uniquely for you her client.
Custom orders are her speciality, though ready made pieces may be purchased on line on the Hello Pretty portal. This being South Africa’s top designer and artisan market place these ready made pieces can be dispatched immediately. Based in the Upper Highway Area of KwaZulu-Natal, Tarah often works remotely with her brides and clients. Her pieces can be shipped almost anywhere.
