Vondeling function venue and St Clement Chapel
Vondeling, which means ‘foundling’, lies on the escarpment of the unspoilt and undiscovered Paardeberg mountain range. A convenient 45 minute drive from Cape Town.
Situated on the south east facing slopes of the Paardeberg on the Voor Paardeberg Road outside of Paarl. From Cape Town you will travel off the N1 onto the R44 in the direction of the town Wellington. On the R44 you will find sign-boards directing you to the Voor Paardeberg – one of the best kept secrets of the winelands!
The Chapel
Vondeling’s charming chapel, St Clement, has beautiful and unique features such as hand-made stained-glass windows, beautiful wooden pews and a church bell. The chapel combines old-world charm with modern simplicity, making it a unique place to exchange vows.
The reception venue
The classical function venue, with its high thatch roof, is just a few steps away from the chapel. The venue creates a stylish ambiance. The influence of Cape heritage is the common thread binding together nostalgia and sophistication.
Wedding receptions are hosted in the function venue for a maximum of 100 guests. The dance floor is outside on the large veranda. In winter, a roaring fireplace will keep you and your guests warm and cosy. In the summer, host your reception on the shaded veranda or inside the air-conditioned function venue.
Accommodation
Our immaculately restored farmhouse, with its typical Cape Dutch architecture, offers seven luxurious en-suite bedrooms surrounded by manicured gardens and majestic mountain views.
