Rhubees is a small chocolate business based in Kloof, KZN. Like many small ventures, it began as a hobby in our kitchen and gradually grew into the business it is today.

Founded by us, Julienne Prozesky and Alex Roberts, Rhubees started alongside five friends who shared a passion for chocolate but were concerned about the health impacts of sugar. Determined to create a healthier alternative, we embarked on a mission to find or make our own sugar-free chocolate. Our journey took an exciting turn when we discovered an incredible source of sugar-free couverture chocolate, and we couldn’t believe how good it tasted. That’s when our adventure truly began.

From humble beginnings in the kitchen, Rhubees expanded into its own small, state-of-the-art factory, where we brought on Thulani, our professionally trained chocolatier.

Since then, we've traveled to Belgium to take part in a "Bean to Bar" course, learning the fine craft of chocolate making from the very source of our chocolate. We’ve also exhibited at trade shows across South Africa and received several awards for our products. Just before the lockdown, we traveled to Italy to invest in specialized chocolate machinery, allowing us to introduce exciting new products to the market.
